Speech Contest

Each year, the Gilroy Rotary Club sponsors a speech contest for local high school students. The goals of the contest are to teach students the importance of being able to speak effectively before a group, to increase public knowledge of what Rotary does locally and throughout the world, to show young people the value of volunteer service, and to provide all high school students an opportunity to learn the value of fair competition.

Cash prizes are awarded with no strings attached, but Rotary hopes that the award will be used to further the student's education. Winners of the Gilroy contest advance to compete against other Bay Area students in the Area 6 Rotary Speech Competition.
