Gilroy Rotary Club is part of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional people who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Founded in Chicago in 1905 by Paul Harris, Rotary International was the world's first service club and the original “social network.” Today, Rotary International includes over 32,000 clubs with more than 1,200,000 members located in 200 countries and geographic regions throughout the world.

Gilroy Rotary is a member of Rotary District 5170, which includes 58 clubs in Northern California (from Oakland to Hollister) with over 4,000 total members.
