The Rotary Club’s motto is “Service Above Self,” and
Gilroy Rotarians are actively involved in humanitarian,
educational, and cultural programs that touch people's
lives both in the local community and throughout the world.
The Gilroy Rotary Club sponsors the RotaCare health clinic at South Valley Middle School to provide free healthcare services for local residents who do not have insurance or access to medical care. The clinic is open on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and treats patients on a first-come, first served basis.
The Gilroy Rotacare Clinic treats patients with minor illnesses and injuries and also provides screening for diabetes and hypertension, The clinic is staffed by volunteer doctors and nurses and a Rotary administrator. Local hospitals donate medical equipment and supplies.
Gilroy Rotary is proud to be one of the pioneers in offering free medical services to the community. Today, we are part of the larger RotaCare Bay Area group, which provides clinics in Concord, Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Monterey, Northern Peninsula, Pittsburg, Richmond, San Jose, San Leandro, and San Rafael.
